I object to band names that are generic, such as the Band and Live. Just as I would object to eating food labelled food, or reading a book titled the Book, or any non-informative crappy names. The whole purpose of naming things is to identify them. Please, people, can't we name stuff appropriately?

Crazy Muslims

The brouhaha over some cartoons that depict Mohammad in a bad light is still going on. People are dead, and the Muslim world is still mad.

Get over it -- it's a fucking cartoon, for god's sake.

Now a Muslim "holy" man has offerered up a reward of $1 million or so to kill the Danish author(s?) of these cartoons.

However you feel about the cartoons themselves, I believe all civilized people can agree on one thing:

Killing the people who authored the cartoons is not an option.

Anyone who thinks it is alright to issue death threats and rewards for killing people who created a cartoon is, by any reasonable person's definition, a fucking nutcase who really shouldn't be sharing the planet with civilized people.

And then don't forget all the hate speech regularly coming out of the Muslim world, aimed at Americans, Jews, and pretty much anyone who doesn't wear a turban.

These people are amongst the biggest hypocrites on the planet.

Unless these murderers and other cretins can behave like civilized people, then I don't see any alternative but to take away anything it's in our power to take away -- verbal support, monetary support, and maybe even their lives if they continue to act in this completely barbaric manner.

We should immediately implement whatever sanctions we can against the organizations that condone murder whenever someone speaks in a manner disagreeable to them. Free speech cannot thrive in a world where people can be killed over an editorial cartoon.
